Yankee Flyers of Connecticut
BY-LAWS
1. NAME AND PURPOSE
A. This club shall be named The Yankee Flyers of Connecticut.
B. Its purpose is to advance the hobby of radio controlled model
aircraft and all club activities shall be directed to the
achievement of that goal.
2. MEMBERSHIP
A. Membership is restricted and will be held at a total not to exceed
100 members. New membership can be obtained through a
sponsorship program (see G ). All members are required to hold a
current Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA) membership.
B. Dues are as follows:
Yearly dues are $35.00 for members 19 years or older.
Yearly dues are $20.00 for members under 19 or over 65 years
C. Dues are payable annually in the month of January. Members
whose dues are not paid by the 31st of January will be considered
delinquent and will be removed from the club’s active roster and
placed on the inactive roster. (Exceptions to this requirement may
be made by the executive committee.)
C1. Inactive Member: An inactive member is a member that has
completely paid their initiation fee but is not currently holding an
AMA membership or is delinquent in paying their dues. An
inactive member does not have the right to fly at the club field or
any club sponsored events. Does not have a vote in any club
business. Is not counted when determining quorum. Their club
membership has not been revoked.
C2. Active member: An active member is a member who has
completely paid their initiation fee. Has completely paid the
current year dues. Has a current membership with the AMA.
Their club membership has not been revoked.
D. Initiation Fee:
Each member 19 years or older will pay a non-refundable one
time payment of $100.00 (AKA initiation fee). New members
are required to pay the $100.00 assessment, as well as the annual
dues.
E. A member who has been removed from the clubs active roster
because of delinquent dues or AMA membership issues may
become a active member by correcting the problem and notifying
the club treasurer and secretary. A member whose membership
was revoked may not rejoin the club under any circumstance.
F. Any club member may have membership revoked for repeated
violation of, or refusal to adhere to the field regulations. This
decision can be reached by a majority vote of the club members
present at a regular meeting. The member must be notified that
action is being taken.
G. Sponsorship
Any person seeking to be a member of “The Yankee Flyers of
Connecticut” must be sponsored by a current member of the club.
The sponsor will insure that the applicant fills out the club
application form, has paid their dues and initiation fee and has
forwarded the dues and application form to the club treasurer and
secretary. The sponsor will give a copy of the club bylaws and the
club field and frequency rules to the applicant. The sponsor will at
the next club meeting present the applicant to the club.
3. OFFICERS
A. The club officers shall be composed of:

2. Vice-President
3. Secretary
4. Treasurer
5. Field Marshall
B. Club officers shall be elected every January at the regularly
scheduled January meeting.
C. Nomination for club officer shall be completed at the regular
Scheduled December business meeting.
D. The officers functions shall be those normally associated with
their business.
E. The elected officers shall compose the executive committee.
4. COMMITTEES
Committees shall be formed as required at a regular business
meeting.
5. CONDUCTING CLUB BUSINESS
A. All active club members shall have an equal vote in all club
business with the exception of the President whose vote shall
only be used to break a tie.
B. All business shall be conducted at the scheduled business
meetings.
C. A quorum of 10% of the active club member population shall be
required to formally conduct a business meeting.
D. In the event that necessary club business must be conducted at
any other time, the executive committee shall have the power to
conduct such business. Any business conducted by the executive
committee must be reviewed by the membership at the next
business meeting.
E. Changes to the club bylaws shall require the affirmative vote of a
majority of the club membership present at a regular club business
meeting.
F. All club members shall abide by all club rules and regulations.
